Gulf News Features Prof’s Warning to Entrepreneurs
Gulf News, the leading English-language newspaper and news website in the United Arab Emirates, has featured Professor William Scott-Jackson’s warning that nearly three quarters of all new business start-ups will fail, following Oxford Strategic Consulting’s latest research report into boosting Omani and Emirati Engineering talent, sponsored by energy company BP.
The news article includes Professor Scott-Jackson stating that only 6 per cent of new business startups will be successful and build over 60 per cent of job growth for the GCC economy. This discovery follows new research from Oxford Strategic Consulting and energy company BP, which shows that 67 per cent of new start-up businesses are likely to fail, while 33 per cent will be successful. But, from this 33 per cent of successful entrepreneurs, only a small 6 per cent will go on to create further jobs that will boost the GCC economy.
We’re pleased to see that BP’s specially-commissioned research report is continuing to make headlines in the Middle East include the article link here for you to read at your leisure.
