OSC leads workshop on Qatari Talent and Leadership with Qatargas
Qatargas HR and training leaders discuss how to further improve Qatari Talent and Leadership, with Professor William Scott-Jackson of Oxford Strategic Consulting.
Qatargas senior HR and Training teams invited Professor William Scott-Jackson and his team at Oxford Strategic Consulting (OSC) to facilitate a workshop, based on their major research report on ‘Maximising Qatari Talent’, to spur strategic discussions on how Qatargas can maintain and develop its lead in recruiting and developing future Qatari leaders.
Professor Scott-Jackson presented the research for the Qatargas teams to develop innovative approaches for staying competitive in the oil & gas industry in Qatar and the GCC region. The workshop was divided into four critical areas of business strategy: attracting and recruiting Qatari talent, recognizing key strategic capabilities for Qatar, ‘fast-track’ development of young Qatari leaders and engaging and retaining the best Qatari talent.
For his part, Professor Scott-Jackson said, ‘Our research on leadership in the GCC reveals not only that a very high proportion of Qataris have the opportunity to be leaders (and the country needs them), but also that Qatar has distinct cultural advantages for fast-tracking these nationals into senior management positions. Therefore, we are delighted to work with Qatargas, which is a leading organization in developing young Qatari talent and creating the country’s future leaders.’
OSC possesses an international reputation for its bespoke research and successful track record of tackling the most-pressing HR issues across the GCC. OSC recently worked with the Qatar Chamber to produce a report on ‘Maximising Qatari Talent’, which received wide media attention across the GCC. Current projects include a major research volume on the Gulf Leadership Style, of which the Qatari Leadership Style is an important component.
